Parks Are Being Dismantled Before Our Very Eyes. USA parks as we know and love them are changing — dismantled before our very eyes under the new Trump administration in the first six weeks. Fired staff, canceled building leases, erased history. We see the writing on the wall, and it’s dark.
As Michigan’s largest state park, the Porcupine Mountains are a sanctuary for thousands of unique species and a vital piece of our planet’s story. More than just trails and trees, the park stands as a hub for conservation knowledge and environmental education empowering visitors to understand, respect, and protect the natural world. Through immersive experiences, compelling storytelling, and a commitment to community, the Porcupine Mountains aim to inspire a new generation of stewards who are as wild about nature as the landscape itself.
See ya in the trees!
